November 19, 2020 - High alcohol levels are well hidden. Loads of bramble fruit but not overwhelming as there is a bitterness factor that takes one's attention.

November 19, 2019 - This may be the best Petite Sirah (Durif) I have ever had. 12 yo and showed great. Not clunky. Rich dark fruits. Absolutely balanced. Big and rich. I am impressed. Great with grilled Porterhouse steaks!

October 25, 2019 - Thick & chewy, perhaps could have used more tannin for balance, so drink em now. Nice get for 17 bones tho.

April 17, 2016 - No formal note taken as this was toward the end of the night but this is a HUGE wine. Super dark and extracted color. Blackberry jam and just a ton of dark fruits with earth and spice. Big tannins and alcohol but neither out of balance. Impressive wine although not necessarily my style.

January 4, 2014 - Near pitch-black color in the glass with a dark purple edge, blackberry-like. This is rich and slathering and with refined, soft tannins (to the extent you can feel them at all through the gloss of the fruit). I would probably have pegged this for a syrah rather than a petite; it really tastes very syrah-like. It has a bit of spiriting warmth which at 16.1% (!) isn't all that surprising, but you don't feel the stiffness on the palate. Still, this was too monolithically fruity for me, too much like a reduction sauce.
