June 3, 2023 - Just as good as the first two bottles. Excellent balance, with sweet notes of black cherry, tobacco and leather, with a medium long finish. Amazing concentration, purity and clarity for a 56 years old wine.

Incredible QPR! The best Barolo I have ever had for the price.

October 22, 2022 - A blast with buds (Washington, DC): This was fascinating. Seriously reminds me of late autumn mushroom hunting in Appalachia. Fallen leaves, mud, grubs, mushrooms, dampness, it’s all there in here. The mouthfeel is really special, just as silky and effortless as can be. The fruit is muddled and faded but the complexities of mushroom broth, leaves, woods, pine, soy, it all is fun to dissect. Is this delicious? Nope. But is it a ton of interesting fun. Absolutely!

December 31, 2021 - Oh my, This beauty is a testament to Barolo and the vintage. I have had so many great '67s, and this is one of the best. It started, like so many, just a little brown, but with a keen nose, the kind that makes you smile right away; You know what's coming! The brown quickly turns dull red, nearly limpid, and later was clear as a bell, with a slight pink edge!, This wine is fully resolved, it has rose hints, with tar, and pretty, pretty red fruit, maybe a bit of spiced compote, but super subtle. There are also, subtle hints of wet clay and sweet earth perceptions. It's perfect in the mouth, no rough edges, that only comes with age, maybe a forest floor thought, old but fresh. Wow what a wine. So glad i have one more!

May 17, 2021 - This old looking wine had mature flavors and delicacy, but it had drying tannins still! The wine looks muddy with shades of brown overlaying red and orange. It's clear too. (I stood it upright for almost a week before opening). It smelled volatile and a little vegetal on the nose, too. Despite it's tired look and off nose, there are surprisingly noticeable tannins on the attack, revealing a wine hanging on to its youth. Lovely flavors of mesquite, soy sauce, orange oil, tea, and a little cherry. I opened this along with several other bottles of some really good stuff (2 Williams selyems from the 90s, a '95 Domaine d'Arlot Les Suchots, and '83 Brane Cantenac, 71 Mayacamas...), and this was one of my faves.

March 2, 2021 - 18 hours upon opening serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale garnet with some fine deposits to the eyes.

Petite organic cherries. Floral spices. Tea and leafy notes.

More structured (or basically more tannic?) than the Bartolo tasted alongside. Very good satisfying finish.

    94 points solid.

Second round, more camphor and medicinal notes. Beru pure and clean notes.
