April 8, 2010 - I am generally not a fan of blends, especially if they are an after though to move a few left over barrels. That does not seem to be the program here. This is about the 10th vintage of approximately same blend. They farm the grapes for this blend in the same vineyard each year. So, this is interesting and pleasant in a light bodied way. I liked the cherry influence from both the Carrignane and the Sangiovese. I also got a small amount of pepper on the nose that would not be typical for the Zinfandel alone. Definitely dominated by the red fruits This is very easy drinking, relatively low in acid, not much oak influence. Quite balanced, not over ripe, relatively modest alcohol at 13.8%. Fruity finish.

March 12, 2010 - An unusual blend of Zinfandel, Carignane and Sangiovese, it's light-bodied with aromas of raspberries followed by flavors of strawberries and a tinge of red grapefruit. Red fruit flavors galore, really, but that's about it ~ despite what you might expect from its component parts, it's straightforward and quite simple. It would, however, shine as a refreshing summer party quaffer.

January 28, 2010 - Nice red blend. My daughter says this was her gateway wine for Santa Barbara Winery - she was on a grad student budget. Not in the same league as some of their other reds, but solid within this price range.
