April 10, 2017 - High fill to the neck and while the cork broke in the middle the second half eventually came off.

Slightest hint of browning on the edges with still a white hue. Balsamic, menthol, and smokey notes coupled with dark cherries. Enough acidity and tannin to keep this going for quite some time, very enjoyable now but based on this bottle aging potential is just fine.

Update- on the third night more pronounced roses, tobacco and licorice. Forgot to mention, also a very long finish.

December 3, 2016 - Ok...maybe some drop off now. Decanted at a restaurant for 30 min and drank over next 90. Was still a great wine in that 45-90 min decanted timeframe, but maybe some dropoff at that point. We will probably try to drink our last two bottles over the next year, but I should mention the somm thought it had a good two years at least still in it.

July 26, 2016 - 20c; no decant; dark, coppered-red; restrained nose, leather, earth; rasping tannins, brisk fruit; bacon notes, intense metals covering the fruit, black cherries, mint, pepper; a heavy-weight swinging wildly (probably better to drink young); 17.5

June 30, 2016 - Decanted for 1 hour. Great black fruit bouquet and firm tannins.

June 16, 2016 - Really a super wine...decanted for MAYBE 30 min. and drank over 90 min. with no sign of drop off. Good for AT LEAST another year.
