December 21, 2013 - Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. Easily identified as from Burgundy, this comes across as very Griotte-Chambertin to me, with an elegant red/black cherry character than I find more subtle than any of the other Gevrey Gran Cru vineyards. Good amount of pristine cherry still coming through alongside reduced mushroom. Very long, perfectly textured.

November 25, 2009 - Domaine Fourrier Dinner with Jean-Marie and Vicki Fourrier (Le Café Anglais, Bayswater, London): Dark, sweaty nose, smoky sweet fruit, but not as substantial or expressive as the CSJ and my impression is that this is fading

November 25, 2009 - Domaine Fourrier Dinner with Jean-Marie and Vicki Fourrier (Le Cafe Anglais, Notting Hill, London): Initially closed, slowly opened to reveal a minerally nose, with notes of iron, but underlying rich dark cherry fruit. Rich, dark and minerally on the palate too, quite firm and lean with a strong tannic backbone, but good length on the finish. Difficult to read at this point, but seems to be in need of more time.

May 7, 2006 - This wine probably needed some more time to open than the 30 minutes I gave it. It has a good structure and still some firm tannins for a 97 Burg. It has youthful fruit as well. But it seems a little dis-jointed at this point. Went nicely with pork tenderloin though. Some sips of the wine 4 hours later were more enjoyable. I will look forward to revisiting this one in a year and give it more airtime before drinking.

March 14, 2006 - Sydney 1st Growth Bordeaux/Grand Cru Burgundy Dinner (Marque Restaurant): Nose is quite nice, herbs and stalks, spice and cherry. Palate doesn't live up to the interesting nose, being tannic, acidic, short and simple.
