August 19, 2015 - Impenetrably dark garnet. Incredibly rich but with noticeable heat and a touch of dusty tannins. Carries the alcohol well. Good to drink now and seems like for a while to come. Hard to imagine a complementary food pairing, however.

July 27, 2013 - This bomb is fairly indicative of the kind of Australian wine that people complain about. Big fruit nose, with hints of grilled meat and flower. A wash of sweet blackberry and blueberry when tasted, balanced with salinity and acidity. Not subtle in any way, I really enjoy this kind of wine but understand it is not for everyone.

September 19, 2012 - Menthol or almost eucalyptol on initial nose. After a half hour some mint showed up & then after another hr beautiful red fruit with mint on the nose. Nice complexity on the modest side. Raspberries & cherries up front with mild acidity & tannins. Moderate finish with the longing to have another sip.
