Community Tasting Notes 3

April 18, 2024 - From a case of 12 - fill into/base of neck. Medium to dark ruby, no bricking, seems like a well stored bottle. A ton of barnyard on the nose, some light cherry fruit, with a little graphite trailing behind. Very elegant on the palate, good example of typical aged Bordeaux: largely musky notes with dominant Merlot characteristics. Finish is long but fragile, unlikely to improve from further age. Fun and easy bottle.

March 10, 2024 - Winefield's pre-sale tasting: In 1989 the name was still Alesme-Becker and considering the quality of the vintage I had hoped for more. Very mature, even a bit too, Although in the midtaste the body and the spices gave some compensation; the finish was a bit rough; still a very drinkable wine after nearly 35 years.

January 23, 2021 - D1h. Beautiful dark brick red colour, orange tinged, 5. Wonderful meaty bouquet, blackcurrant, pencil, and more. Harmonious on the palate, almost dissolved tannins, airy and elegant lingering finish. Really a surprise but of course in a star vintage.
