August 24, 2013 - I loved the 2006 version of this wine (a very good vintage in Tuscany), but the 2007 has quite a bitter bight to it which needs another year or two to let it settle down. I let it breathe for an hour and poured it through an aerator, but it didn't help much. Quite high in alcohol, too (13%), but rich sour cherry flavour and some potential to improve with a bit more age. Definitely too young at the moment.

January 12, 2011 - Ruby color; medium body; very light fruit with firm tannins. Okay with food; kind of boring.

August 31, 2010 - 1 hour decant. Modest nose. (We drank from the Riedel Vinum Chianti glasses, that we are beginning to think are not the right glass for Chiantis, ironically enough) Very withdrawn nose, some red berries. On the palate tannic, slightly bitter. Still, with food on the table sweetish and round, pleasant. A definite food wine. Not unpleasant, and not exciting. If the wine was as nice as the label it would be fantastic!

August 3, 2010 - Medium ruby-garnet. Red cherry, liquorice, black tea and a gamey note that disappears after aeration. Nicely integrated oak. Mid-bodied with firm tanins, nice red fruit and balancing acidity. Long finish. A very solid, food friendly Chianti Classico.

May 16, 2010 - Drank in Italy with chingale, percino cheese and bread at Villa overlooking the Tuscan hills. Wine was okay but with all the aforementioned it was great!!
