August 20, 2022 - Mid-Aged Zinfandel and Cali Cab Dinner (Casa Garard - Northfield IL): Single blind in aged Zinfandel flight. My 3rd favorite of the flight, group's #4. Mature, layered, this was certainly past its peak but it was still easy to get its sense of balance. More interesting than fun, but interesting enough.

August 20, 2022 - Chez Garard older Zinfandels and Cali Cabs: This was a ringer in the flight of Zinfandels. An original and stood up very well. My #6 and the grp #4. Drink for its history.

June 3, 2015 - Tasted blind w/Mike: 2002 Boldos, 2000 Opus One, 1996 Grgic Plavac Mali. Only correctly identified wine was the Opus One.
I did not id this wine. Little resemblance to Zinfandel. Initial impression was not bad. Wine showed decent structure for its age, not a lot of fruit but tasted ok. Then, over the next hour or so, began to degrade. Decided to evacuate the bottle and refrigerate. This stabilized things and the wine was reasonably drinkable several days later.1 person found this helpful Comment -
