June 25, 2022 - Continues to drink beautifully! Delicious dark fruit with herbal and floral notes on a silky palate with a long savory finish.

December 26, 2020 - I must have had a bad bottle. This wine has a huge VA issue and was undrinkable. Bummer.

December 25, 2020 - 2 hour decant. Color was translucent ruby, lighter than expected. Nose was floral with strawberry jam. Medium body, sweet glycerin with intense red fruits and minerals. So smooth, with a long finish that ends with sour cherries. Delicious. Everybody loved this with Christmas prime rib. I continue to be impressed with these well-aged Cayuse Cabernets, though in my opinion it was slightly bested by a 2008 Andre Will Sorella that was also served. Would be interesting to see where it goes from here, but not much room to improve. Suggest drinking now or over the next 3 years if well-stored.

(Cayuse Vineyards Widowmaker Cabernet Sauvignon En Chamberlain Vineyard Walla Walla Valley) Dark in color. Full of dried blood, earth, crushed violets, ash, mineral, and high-toned funk. Hits the palate in waves with incredible energy. Compellingly fresh, clean, and vibrant with a textured mouthfeel. Some won’t know what to make of this wine; others will swoon. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.3% alcohol. 233 cases produced.

(Cayuse Vineyards The Widowmaker En Chamberlin Vineyard Barrel Sample Walla Walla Valley) A completely different nose than the other wines sampled with ground licorice and earth. Reminds me a bit at times of the Gramercy Cabernet. An interesting bit of flatness on the palate. A lighter bodied, approachable effort that is less tannin driven on the taste than most Cabernets. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. To be released in 2010.
