April 18, 2019 - Exactly as I remembered it, and exactly as fellow CT tasting notes described. One problem- It seems that what I really liked about 3 years ago I don't like now. So... as advertised. But simply does not work for me at this time. Palate changes... c'est la vie

August 9, 2013 - Vibrant nose of nutty sherry, lemons and minerals. Rich and racy with very ripe fruit flavors of lemon/lime and melons. Superb intensity and succulent acidity grace the palate and then the oxidised notes kick in on the long, spicy complex finish which has notes of hazelnuts, curry and lots of minerals. Really impressive juice and this got better and better in the glass so open well before serving. 93+

August 5, 2012 - Incredibly pungent nose of varnish, nutty sherry, baked bread and spice. On the palate, this is deeply affected by the flor with really ripe and intense flavors that echo the nose. There is a richness to the wine that is compelling especially accompanied by the incredibly fresh, firm acidity. Finishes spicy and minerally with notes of grilled nuts, molasses and heady alcohol. Showing a lot tonight but I'm sure there is more in store as this baby ages. Wow, they say vin jaune is an acquired taste but I acquired it from the first sip several years ago and Macle is a great, authentic producer. 93+

September 22, 2010 - Wow, now there's something different. My first Chateau-Chalon, so this may be obvious to old Jura hands out there. From the first whiff from the glass, this is sherry. But when it gets to your lips, it is of course completely dry, and in fact shows youthful tart fruit and great acidity. Same experience every sip - sherry, no, nice crisp white. Very unusual, and more interesting than enjoyable, but also enjoyable too. Ended up pairing quite well, in a jumble-of-contrasts sort of way, with a spicy African peanut stew.
