December 31, 2023 - ever so slightly corked, but great balckberry and cassis, with excellent balance of acidity, tannins that are still present in enough quantity to give a sternness without being coarse or soft. could still continue to age. a 2022 library release from the chateau

    September 24, 2018 - From magnum.

This was extremely present and well-performing.

Still a lot of forward fruit (cassis, raspberry and hints of strawberry) then tobacco, cedar and autumn forest floor. Great Margaux!

February 13, 2017 - Medium brownish garnet in appearance, with lots of sediment. Cork was heavily soaked.

Decanted for 4-5 hours for flavours to develop. It has balanced floral, blackcurrant and tertiary notes (of cedar, leather etc), but quite restrained / feminine like many Margaux wines. The acid level is a bit too low. The tannins almost resolved. Medium bodied. The texture is silky smooth. Medium finish.

Seems like the wine is over the hills, but still enjoyable.

May 3, 2015 - Got this for a steal on winebid.com so I figured not much to lose. Bottle was in excellent condition and a high fill. Opened and the cork was in good condition and about 3/4 soaked. Wine was a brick color / garnet. A bit of acid on the start and then, over time, a bit of older sweet dark fruits began to show. The wine was surprisingly very drinkable! Great deal on a classic older Bdx.

March 13, 2015 - Mint on the nose, the palate is syrupy and jammy, only little fruit left, for some Margaux wines the -83 was stronger than -82 vintage but this one does not come across as a particularly strong vintage for this chateau.
