February 12, 2016 - Probably just past peak, as the flavors were a bit subdued. Still very much alive and smooth, appealing style. Paired well with our lamb surf and turf idea.

January 17, 2016 - I was very impressed by how well this was showing, considering its relative "humble" price tag; This offers up a complex nose of dark fruits, tobacco, saddle leather and earth, while the palate has a firm core of plums, herbs and a touch of wood; Tannins are fully resolved so I would recommend drinking these over the next 5 or so years

August 19, 2015 - From a small pouring in the Sampler store. Really quite impressed by this, clearly fully mature but still clinging onto fair bit of life. Very mellow and pleasant, complex aromas of leather, earth and cigar. Very recommended for the price tag if you can find a bottle that has been well kept.

June 17, 2014 - Very dark garnet to light cola color at the rim. Shy nose save for some alcohol, this opened up a bit after a couple hours in the glass, showing passing earthy dark fruits, ripe olive, coffee, cinnamon and tawny notes. Quite washed out and light on the palate, leaving considerable acidity to poke out too strongly. Very long but lifeless finish. No real flaws, but nothing to excite either. This bottle wasn't going to improve with more age. Very top shoulder, saturated cork, 4 hours slow ox in bottle.
