September 30, 2009 - The color was a deep red leaning slightly toward purple. The aroma was a bit slow to develop but ultimately produced a rich creamy texture of black cherry, prune and vanilla. The flavor was full-bodied, balanced with a very long finish. The tannins were a bit weak leaving the wine slightly soft. Overall this wine had nice complexity, was very satisfying and very easy drinking. A lovely wine.

September 12, 2009 - Oregon Wine Country Tasting (Willamette Valley, OR): Paired with roasted chicken thighs stuffed with proscuitto di parma, porcini mushrooms and grana padano. Spicy red fruit, nice acidic zing, and well-integrated tannins make for a nice-drinking wine. Fruit sourced from Ciel du Cheval and Coyote Canyon vineyards.

3/2/2011 (link) ** points(Cana’s Feast Barbera Columbia Valley) An aromatic wine with plum, spice, raspberries, mint, and light herbal notes. Lightly structured with a whole lot of acid. A good accent to pizza or pasta. Aged 16-18 months in French oak (25% new). 13.3% alcohol.
