January 20, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy Gala Dinner 2024 (Four Seasons Hotel): Wow this is what age does to PYCM's wine. Lovely white flower with good freshness and acidity. Everything is place with super long finish
January 20, 2024 - Perfect time to have caught this today. Intense bouquet with flint, lemon curd and jasmine, translating on to an opulent palate with typical PYCM heft and weight. Outstanding minerality with mikan, spices and salinity on the palate. Oak has integrated nicely and this is drinking exceptionally today.
January 20, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: Quite PYCM in style but so delicious and seemingly immune to premox so no complaints. A large-scaled wine with piercing acidity - a round texture and a little exotic/honey notes, but supremely balanced.
April 13, 2021 - Lovely juice, and right in the zone.
August 30, 2019 - From magnum. Intense matchstick aroma, viscous mouthfeel, opulent and satisfying, some oak on finish. This is a crowdpleaser no doubt.
June 20, 2019 - Heidi's Redux: Some Serious Wines (P.S. Steak, Mpls): Light golden color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Same bottle as Chablis28 and BradE. In a word, stunning. This totally captivated me from the start. Drank next to an '08 Carillon BBM. The differences are striking, but both are brilliant in there own ways. I loved the power and complexity of the PYCM compared to the finese and mineral driven Carillion. The PYCM has a killer nose; intense, saline, great mineral notes, crustaceans, powerful citrus, tangerine, white flowers, cedarbox. The palate has unmistakable grand cru weight and depth, great minerality, river rocks, lemon, lemon oil, tangerine, full bodied, but this doesn't feel heavy at all. There's a little creamy lemon custard and a drop of vanillin too. Outstanding length. 95+ to 96pts.
June 20, 2019 - Same btl as Brad E. Served along side Brad's other BBM from Carillon this came across more youthful and in need of some oak integration for my palate. That said this displayed impressive, lip smacking, concentration and intensity and power that left no doubt that this is Grand Cru. Its nearly all there and once the oak integrates further this will be just that much more special. Tonight Brad's ready to go, more focused, balanced, subtle and finessed '08 Louis Carillon BBM won my heart. What a wonderful flight! Thanks Brad!
June 20, 2019 - An extremely pleasing bottle. Showed much younger than its vintage. Loved it and looking forward to more.
May 13, 2017 - Intense tropical notes on the nose, pineapple and passion fruit. Palate was more restrained and focused, though the finish wasn't particularly long. I wonder if this will improve with time.
November 9, 2016 - Initial wood notes on the nose with good complexity emerging after approximately 30 minutes of air time. Rounded and somewhat flat on the palate. An advancing bottle
