March 14, 2023 - Another nice showing (double-decanted before travel). Clean red and black cherry, woodsmoke, orange zest and a little touch of game meats. Good acids, mostly resolved tannins, nice length and grip. I really love Montevertine, though I stopped buying due to the son. A-

April 23, 2022 - 04/97/85. One of our wines of the night. Just totally at peak with still fresh fruit that is now more ethereal and loaded with spice/herb/earth nuances. As long as it gets for a finish.

April 23, 2022 - Sangiovese study (Chicago, IL): My favourite PT tonight, turns out these wines age magnificently (shocker?). Initially the nose was muted; it became more expressive in the glass. There's still a perfume to the red cherry here, but it's dried (in a good way) with the herbal notes far more accentuated. The acidity here is more prominent; the fruit in the background, with again that classic silky PT texture. Not as leathery and tannic, this wine is mostly dried fruit and herbs.

February 20, 2021 - Surprisingly clear color - red, fresh, hints of orange buy 100% clear. Amazing for the age. Still acid, and had to wait a while in the glass before it was ready. LPT showing its strength and longlivety.

September 28, 2020 - Still very young. Thrilling and exotic perfume of black cherries, underbrush and espresso. Strong backbone, but with velvety, sweet tannins and wonderful acidity. This tasted as if it were only 15 - 20 years young. Impeccable Sangiovese from Le Pergole Torte! Provenance, provenance, provenance!
