February 24, 2018 - Elegant, fruit forward offering from Spring Mountain. Deep, dark, cherry color in the glass. Dark, black and blue fruit on the palate. See previous notes but this was a wonderful offering for Open that Bottle Night.

December 25, 2017 - Took this to a lovely Christmas dinner with friends. Consistent with my notes from July, this is dark rich and full of blue and black fruit. Long finish with a dry earthy feel. Drinking nicely.

October 15, 2017 - A surprise from the back of the cellar
this has hit a beautiful drinking window with rich dark fruit in harmony with an earthy backbone
Will not get better than now but has some years of life left

July 4, 2017 - Rich, robust and opulent. Aromas of blueberry compote and creosote fill the room on opening. Deep, opaque, purple in color. Full bodied with layers of blue and black fruit, chocolate, and a hint of oak. Nicely integrated tannins and a long lingering finish.

August 24, 2015 - The secret to this wine is air and plenty of it. This was nicely balanced and layered on day two. This opened tight, tannic and a bit astringent. After a couple of hours, it began revealing raspberry, cassis and cherry but was still one dimensional. Fortunately, an ounce or two remained today, some 20 hours later. The fruit was still evident, the tannins had smoothed out nicely and additional layers of licorice, tobacco box and cola had emerged. This is one of our favorites, having met proprietor Duane Hoff on our 2009 Napa Wine Experience. Just let it breathe.
