October 9, 2021 - Mature, earthy cabernet with lovely mouth feel and still some plum and dark berry on the nose. Certainly at its peak or in gentle decline. I can’t imagine it getting any better but will probably drink well for another 3-4 years. If you have some in your cellar, time to drink up and enjoy.

March 28, 2018 - Dim Sum Club at Imperial Treasure Teochew (Imperial Treasure Teochew, Takashimaya): Best of the Bordeaux blends today - in spite of the fact that it was the one New World wine out of the trio. Clearly different from the two St Emilion on the same flight - this showed a very expressive nose of ripe plums, sweet blueberries, and smoky eucalyptus with a touch of earthiness on the side. Nice, but so clearly Aussie even when blind. The palate was at a really nice place today - with fresh prickly acidity and soft, but still chewy tannins wrapped around full, savoury notes of earth and eucalyptus, dried cassis and plump berries, all these leading into a nice finish with touches of earth and herb. Very Aussie in character, and drinking so very nice after 20 years in the bottle. Delicious stuff.

June 20, 2015 - With Sunday lunch - slow cooked lamb, perfect roast potatoes and steamed vegetables.
Wine had professional rave reviews in the past and our group thought this is now optimal drinking. Showing some secondary aged characters and smoothed tannins. Entry flavour has a very little cedar and leather but the mix of red and dark fruit becomes dominant fairly soon. Good length. Its sometimes described as minty but not prominent. The more this breathes the better.
Voyager C/M is not yet at the forefront of Marg River cabernet but this is a rising star and deserves the good attention. -

December 20, 2014 - Lots of green pepper aromas in the beginning. After a while blew off to reveal cedar, dark fruit and soil. No longer a fruity styled wine but more secondary characteristics has emerged. Enjoyable wine as its not over the top like many Aussies can be. An elegant claret.

April 17, 2014 - Very nice if muted Cab/Merlot blend. Nice cherry fruit with very tasty tannins on the back end. Not sure of the aging potential, but we’ll find out on Ian’s 21st or maybe 18th B’day...
