November 17, 2020 - Actually still a bit tight upon opening. Should develop beautifully in the glass though. Still good color and structure.

    April 1, 2017 - Terrazas Malbec Reserva 2007, 01.04.2017
Nose: Aptly, whether by association or not, I got a whiff of Cahors; dark berries, dark cherries, something almost Syrah medicinal, with camphor and rich, oily herbs, something peppery. The black-shoe-polish like oakiness that was so dominant when I first bought these bottles in 2010 is still present, but now less disagreeable and more in the background (88p)
Taste: Slightly peppery and sweet arrival, with sweet red berry juice. On the mid-palate the oak takes over and dominates, before the berry sweetness returns in the exit, saving the day (as well as the aftertaste from being overly shoe polish oaked). Although I find this wine much better now than back in 2010 wine I still find it to be unbalanced and over oaked. Such a pity because the underlying wine is really starting to develop and mature in a very nice, slightly rustic, Cahors like manor (78p).
Net score 83 points, reflecting that this actually is a very decent wine which has been halfway destroyed by far-over-the-top heavily toasted oak treatment.
I'll put my last bottle aside for another 5 years to see if the wine will have managed to eat up more of the shoe polish. Don't hold your breath, though...

November 14, 2012 - Very nice everyday wine. Deep ruby color with an earthy nose. Rich, fruity and nicely round and smooth in the mouth. Has a smoky spice characteristic on the finish.

May 11, 2011 - Red-Purple in color. Nose of Fresh Blueberry, Blackberry, slight rosemary/oregano and Cocoa powder/Dust. Still pretty decent tannins makes me think the wine will age out a little longer. The wine finishes with dry tannins, lacking a little acidity/juiciness with a lingering hint of dried cherry in the finish. Tasted an hour after opening.
