November 30, 2022 - In a great spot. Soft secondary sweet pinot fruit mixed with iron, earth, and cherry. Palate is mature pinot, medium bodied with a lacy seamless quality. Finish seems to reflect the village with iron, rustic tannin, darker berry, and some austerity. Overall an attractive bottle that hits as it should and ready to drink.

April 25, 2022 - A gorgeous nose of rose petal, ginger spice, red fruits and sandalwood. The palate is fresh, lacy and engaging. It gains weight and sweetness at its core as it takes on air. It is beautifully balanced and proportioned, finishing with mineral cut and fanning out. I love these de Smet era wines.

April 7, 2020 - A beautiful nose of decaying rose, black earth, smoked meats and ginger spice. It is fine and lacy, with nice volume and excellent balance. Flavours build and it really fans out on the finish. There's good acid cut and outstanding persistence. Drinking at the top of its game.

December 19, 2019 - Christmas Winps (La Trompette, Chiswick): Attractive perfumed nose, florals, red fruits, spice. Medium bodied, quite delicate, airy and refined, red fruit, florals, very fine tannins, vibrant/crisp acids, good length harmonious finish. lovely and pretty much at its peak I would say.

May 20, 2018 - In a fabulous place right now. The nose is complex and engaging, with notes of musk, rose petals, smoke and red berries. The palate is full and silky. It has nice depth and exquisite balance. There are plant matter and earthy flavours mixing it up with fresh berry and cherry fruits. It has nice poise and excellent length.

(l'Arlot Nuits St.Georges Clos des Fôrets St.Georges) Medium, medium-plus cherry-red colour. Starts a little tight and diffuse, taking a few minutes to develop more depth and with it precise red & black cherry fruit. More delicate and precise that the 01 l'Arlot. Lots of complexity, and good acidity - this is a seriously lovely wine and beautifully presented in 2001.
