March 7, 2014 - Deep garnet with nose of ripe sour cherries, rhubarb, some fruitcake and raisin, dry forest floor and tree bark. Vibrant acidity balanced with a rich almost liquorous texture, full-bodied, very ripe fruits and a focus on baked red fruits. Warming and generous with a mid-palate showing damson, fruitcake and even prune yet displaying a sour cherry twist at the end. Spices linger in the background throughout and add intrigue to a well-developed wine that is holding its own. Rather a good version of super Tuscan power with Italian svelteness. A super-smooth wine packed with fruit, very good with long chocolate and cherry finish yet checked with some fine gritty tannins even a touch cherry skin on the finish.

November 23, 2009 - This was great with food. Rich, full, lush merlot fruit. Long finish. Excelled with Lamb. However, the glass after dinner wasn't at the same heights. The lush mouthfeel is achieved with the help of perhaps some RS? Either way, this is delicious, and extremely enjoyable to drink. But the lack of balance knock it down from being a really stellar bottle of wine.

September 18, 2009 - Dark colour, intense, quite concentrated fruit, still very vigorous; power rather than elegance, but very impressive.

July 10, 2009 - Rich, full cherry/plum flavours, with a spice edge to it. Attractively mature, but still fresh and lively. A fine example of a modern Tuscan wine.

November 12, 2008 - This is one solid bottle of wine, however I probably wouldn't pay the asking price. Tight and acidic at first. Threw in a decanter for an hour. The aromatics open up with red currant, cranberry, and dried cherries. Lots of herbal notes with minerality and spice. The palate starts off with bright, high acid red fruits and berries. Transforms into an elegant dried red berry, warm spices, earthy concoction that pleases the palate. I would have thought the Sangiovese content would be a higher percentage, but it turns out to be fairly low. Anyway, this will be fun to follow over the next few years.
