December 8, 2018 - Still plenty of tannins and a nice balance. Medium finish.

July 5, 2012 - I was a little worried that this would be over the hill, but I'm happy to say that's not the case. Had a bit of funk on opening and even a cloudy appearance on the surface when poured. However, 15 minutes of air got things rolling and by 45 minutes the wine had blossomed nicely. Medium- bodied with some tertiary notes on display, but dark red fruit still in evidence as well. Smooth on the finish. I'd say this has another 3 years of good drinking left.

November 15, 2011 - Decanted one hour. Youthful ruby red in glass. Nose of plums and cassis, with oak, vanilla and leather. Lush red fruit on the palate, with pipe tobacco, leather and chocolate. Great reasonably priced cali cabernet.

August 18, 2011 - Great nose, tastes of fresh red fruits, strawberry and raspberry, savory tastes of cedar and oak. Medium to long finish.

June 24, 2011 - Pretty nose of lead pencil shavings, black cassis Color is an 'advanced' stage, but not old. The palate has a sweet reddish black medley of fruits with cassis and red cherries up front and pomegranate and red raspberries in the background. Some worn leather and hints of tobacco and cedar box really add dimension. There is a hint of cola and early spring flowers, you know, like the ones you really notice after winter. Balance is perfect with tannins evolved and resolved to cabfection (don't look it up. It's not there). A long finish keeps the fruits in motion all while crescendoing nicely.
I really love how this is showing on this night. I wish some of the wines I had last night showed like such.
