December 24, 2015 - From memory. Lightish pinot noir with lovely fragrance and medium finish, the palate is proper but a little watery.

January 30, 2013 - I'm a big man, and I can admit when I am wrong. This wine just morphed. It has this floral, spicy, minerally red berry Volnay nose followed by a palate full of mineral-laden red raspberries. The fruit has finally emerged. Sure, it is a bit acidic and austere and edgy, but it is a pleasing drink now. Very Volnay in character, not particularly complex. Needed about 2+ hours to peak. Earlier bottles were lean and austere despite decanting. Burgundy never fails to disappoint, at least on some level. Last bottle, I'd certainly buy more to drink in the short term at the right price.

November 22, 2012 - Clear ruby in the glass. Clean nose of red fruit, spice, earth, flowers. In the mouth: medium all around on body, acidity, alcohol, and velvety tannin. Flavor profile of strawberries, raspberries, flowers, baking spices, campfire smoke. Feels balanced and elegant on the palate. Medium+ length finish.

September 9, 2012 - The nose is dominated by spice rather than fruit; there are some red berry notes, but cinnamon, clove, and salinity are at the forefront -- the nose is almost Vosne in character. The palate is lean and acidic; this is almost thin with just a trace of fruit present. This has evolved little since last tasted, and I am now convinced that it will likely never put on enough weight to be a worthwhile drink. Tasted over four hours.

Of course, my wife (with the good palate) likes "the funk" on this one. Not sure what wine she's drinking, but she's always been a sucker for lean burgs.

January 30, 2012 - The nose is pretty closed down but with some vigorous swirling I get some pretty red fruit and a hint of spice. On the palate, this is liquid velvet. Just a beautiful and elegant texture, perfectly balanced and a nice lingering finish. The flavors take a backseat to the mouthfeel, nothing too expressive but with some nice cherries and spice.
