Community Tasting Notes 2

October 4, 2018 - On initial opening - decanted. Left a fine but heavy sediment in the top and bottom of the bottle (?). It has a nice color more red than purple, smells of cinnamon, smoke, pepper, blackberry and dried prunes. Flavors on entry are tar, cranberry, blackberry and vanilla. Mid weight with a nice acidic, but not tart finish. Somewhat surprising for a Syrah - there is 15% Sangiovese that seems to be dominating the pairing at the moment. I will let this sit for a couple hours to see how it evolves.

August 12, 2010 - This was a 85% Syrah and 15% Tempranillo blend. The flavor was spicy with tobacco, blackberries and some cassis. It finished with smokey oak tannins. I really liked the spicy flavor on the front end. It was well balanced. It was an A- wine.
