December 25, 2022 - Bought from a BBR sale as i wanted to try some mature burgundy but honestly this is so fresh and pure you would struggle to identify it as a 21 year old wine.
A veritable peter pan, probably due to the decent shot of acidity. Definite Chambolle typicity , a solid village effort, only the finesse of the tannins perhaps separate from a 1er effort.

April 23, 2016 - Lighter ruby. Nose of fresh berry, thyme, damp cellar, anise, alpine flowers. Quite alive on the palate with a first wave of adroit lushness, raspberry, and sweet strawberry joined later with deeper layers of iron, earth, and cola. Not as complex as a premier but gets pretty darn close. Texture is very Chambolle. Nicely acidic with still moderately firm tannin. Medium-length finish of black raspberry, stone, and modest grip. Very pleasurable and quite a terric effort for a village wine. Could age further.

October 4, 2012 - In magnum. A deep red colour, still very youthful in appearance. Typical Chambolle elegance on the nose, with perhaps a bit more black fruit than anticipated, and a note of smoky toastiness. On the palate, quite smooth and rich, with a freshness and balance coming more from acidity than from tannic structure. Fairly supple and mouth-coating, and very much with primary rather than secondary characteristics: Blackcurrants, griottes and that lovely pinot-y syrupiness that comes from perfect extraction. A long life ahead for this one.

December 21, 2011 - Color is slightly brown. Earthy nose with cedar and leather, and not much fruit. Smooth palate, tannins nicely integrated, and moderately tart finish. Drink now.

October 18, 2009 - Decanted for 45 mins, restrained to start with but came around after about an hour with the perfume of the wine really beginning to lift. Darkened ruby in colour, light and clear in body, the wine started of slightly tart, good fruit and then a slightly dry tannin on the finish. Once the wine had opened up a bit more, the nose really lifted and the dryness seemed to really smooth out, becoming much more elegant. Aromas of red fruits, black cherry, a touch of spice and a little earthiness to it. After about 2 1/2 hours that dryness began to come back in again and the acidity began to lift with it. A very enjoyable wine, great nose, reasonable finish and good balance, just needs air to get it moving and on this experience, drinking within the next couple of hours. Went very well with a simple roast partridge.
