October 30, 2016 - Full bodied, heavy syrah. Still drinking well with many years left.
Nose: Heavy barnyard stink when opened, mostly blew off within an hour to be replaced by heat and briar fruit aromas.
Tongue: Strong fruit up front (stewed cherries, caramel, stewed apple), with olive overtones toward finish. Strong mineral (chalky) tannins. Flavor arc is fruit forward, then tannins, trailed by fruit/olive notes in a long finish.

March 3, 2015 - P&P, consumed over 2 hours. This had a prominent olive tapenade profile throughout, with blue and black fruit mid-notes. This was unlike any other McPrice wine I've had. Overall delicious, but thrown by the olive notes.

    July 30, 2014 - Big and beautiful

July 2, 2014 - This has matured from a fruit bomb into an elegant wine. Still definitely has life, but don't know how much longer it will last.

August 10, 2013 - The wine is a deep, dark purple color. The massive nose is full of blackberries, blueberries, minerals, dark chocolate, black pepper, charred meat, hot asphalt, vanilla, and violets. This has a very full body, solid tannins, and good acidity. On the palate there is a load of peppery, crushed berries and stony minerals up front with some meaty elements and vanilla coming in on the back end. The finish is long and lush with some dark chocolate entering the picture as well as a touch of alcohol. This is a big boy with little in the way of subtlety or nuance.
