Community Tasting Notes 2

November 23, 2007 - Popped and poured, enjoyed over 3 hours. Dark in the glass with strong black cherry, mushroom nose. Very lively in the mouth – almost carbonated – with acidity and baker’s spice dancing on the tongue. Very pure cherry mid-palate, earth and too much oak on the finish. Very well made wine, but the overt oak on the finish kills it for me – otherwise it reminds me a lot of the ’04 Domaine Alfred Califa. Definitely worth a second look in 2 or 3 years to see if the oak integrates.

August 6, 2005 - Bought this to drink with dinner at Tra Vigne in Napa. Friend suggested bringing wine and paying corkage since wine list prices were said to be high. He was right on. Really enjoyed the bottle as did the others, even though they are not Pinot lovers. Good fruit and very easy style. Not overpowering. Went well with my Halibut and the others Short Ribs.
