Community Tasting Notes 3

December 31, 2020 - Cork soaked through. Signs of seepage under the capsule. Decanted.
Slightly off smell at first which quickly dissipated.
Nice red fruit (cherry, raspberry), forest floor, nice spice, earth, slight truffle/ mushroom. Good acidity. Bright. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

April 25, 2016 - Crystal clear in the glass, displaying all the colors of sunset: red, orange, and slight amber. Stunningly gorgeous nose with: cherry cola, mint, fresh forest floor, caramel, and faint mushroom/truffle. Absolutely sublime in the mouth. Utterly alluring, with polished glycerine texture. Long, haunting finish, which echoes initial notes.

This bottle exhibited all of the positive traits of age: complexity, integrity, subtlety, wisdom, and warmth. Absent were any musty or otherwise unpleasant qualities. All-in-all, an otherworldly bottle.

Drank over two days (kept in stopped decanter at 4C).

    97-99pts.
