  November 1, 2013 - muted but complex nose of mint and blackberry. high acidity. sufficient finish. will stand up to meats as hearty as duck and venison. Nice peak will last for a few more years

After another hour, still a monster but some fruit (currant) coming through. The pasta with pomodoro sauce was not quite right. Maybe something like a hearty ragu would be a better fit with the astringency.

  December 19, 2008 - definitely need aeration. pretty closed until about an hour of decanting. then you get a hearty mouthfeel. slight acidity. paired with brisket with tomato sauce. went well.
