July 9, 2023 - Passive cellar for a decade or so, PnP

Just amazing from jump street; tart cherries, sweettobacco, Mediterranean spices.

    Really lovely

November 1, 2013 - muted but complex nose of mint and blackberry. high acidity. sufficient finish. will stand up to meats as hearty as duck and venison. Nice peak will last for a few more years

March 25, 2013 - Tannic, dry and not as flavorful as I would have expected.

June 23, 2009 - Decanted for an hour (not nearly enough). All structure, no fruit at this stage. Astringency blasts the tongue initially, tannins coat the mouth, finish is short and fairly harsh. After another hour, still a monster but some fruit (currant) coming through. The pasta with pomodoro sauce was not quite right. Maybe something like a hearty ragu would be a better fit with the astringency.
No score because I cant believe that the wine is at a place the winemaker intended.

December 19, 2008 - definitely need aeration. pretty closed until about an hour of decanting. then you get a hearty mouthfeel. slight acidity. paired with brisket with tomato sauce. went well.
