  July 5, 2013 - A pinot from a hot vintage, but is drinking very well. Dark and pure on the nose, med. weight palate and smooth black cherry and a slight minerality. With the right food - a couple more points could be added on.

The one glass I had showed the wine to still be incredibly tight; perhaps it should have been the one to go into the decanter instead of the Cabernet that was in there. The cherry fruit was back in there with very good acidity, but it failed to excite.
  
  In years past I loved the Lazy Creek Pinot, enough so that it was one of the two wine clubs we maintained. But even as my palate has begun to move away from the more fruit-forward wines of the west coast, I simply haven't enjoyed this Pinot. There's no more in the cellar, and I'm sorry to say I won't miss it.
