December 13, 2019 - Friday Night Burgs (Margeaux Brasserie): This had been open for 4-5 hours. Epic nose with pure, intense red fruit that has so many dimensions and complementary accents. The palate is concentrated but with pin point balance. In a great spot now, but should age gracefully for 10+ years.

December 13, 2019 - Burgundies at Margeaux Brasserie (Chicago, IL): Initially, this was dirty on the nose and incredibly disjoint, to the point where I was calling it slightly heat-damaged. By the time dinner rolled around maybe 4-5 hours later, this had really shaped up. The nose was cleaner and purer, showing much better delineation of fruit and earth (and a bit of iron). The palate, too, lost some of the initial muddiness and firmed up to show more tannins on the back end. Is this really the best example of Moose? Probably not, but it's a very lovely bottle of Burgundy anyway.

January 14, 2017 - Pob gala dinner: In magnum. 3.5 hours of aeration. So floral and transperent with integrated oak. This is the best jacques prieur musigny I had. Better than regular size 90, 93, 00, 05 and 07.

January 5, 2015 - Good, not great, but in fine shape and a very satisfying drink.
