December 27, 2015 - another really nice aged calif cab....this bottle is at its peak and should be for little while. very nice sweat tannin with good balance of acid.

November 14, 2015 - At first glance this wine had old napa can written all over it. Leather, green veg, dark fruits and rubber fill the nose. Palate is fading ... Fruit is secondary to wet tobacco, tree bark. After an hour more concentrated black cherry comes forward. Acidity and tannin are still intact but this wine is over the hill.

March 14, 2015 - The wine is popped and aired for 5 hours before drinking. It pours an inky maroon color with some bricking at the edges and long legs. On the nose, the juice smells remarkably like a Graves Bordeaux - masculine, rustic and unrestrained. Smoke, gravel, and burnished leather dominate the core. There are also notes of blackberries, tobacco and currants. On the palate, the wine flexes its strength of alcohol which is balanced out by finely integrated, silky-smooth tannins. First comes cassis and black fruits. Then comes flavors of smoked meats, tobacco, truffle and earth. Acidity is quite low and the finish is surprisingly long. Overall, a great wine that is balanced, complex and enjoyable. Given the quality of the juice and the condition of the bottle, this is a solid bottle indeed.

January 11, 2013 - This is very much in line with the reviews that I see below: Great nose with tobacco, currant, pepper and mint. A little bit hot. Classic palate, but a bit washed out and dilute. I liked this a lot with steak tonight, but I would be worried about keeping this any longer in the cellar.

January 1, 2013 - Opaque with some amber at rim. Complex, multidimensional nose. Rich, tarry, intense on palate with impressive length. Persistent, dusty tannins. No sign of decline - rather suspect it has life ahead
