Community Tasting Notes 3

February 21, 2015 - A 60th Birthday Dinner (Nopa, San Francisco): Light red. Some VA on the nose. Lighter weight with a brief spark of fruit, but mostly dry and earthy. Drink up.

October 23, 2011 - Open, decanted, and poured. Initial impressions weren't so good - obviously maderized, very chunky at first. Then over 60-90 minutes opened up, more fruit and less funk. Actually quite good after 90 mins or so. I'd agree with the 12-8-10 TN. If you have any of this, suggest you drink now. Give it at least 30 minutes opened, before tasting, so your first impressions aren't too negatively colored.

December 8, 2010 - Brilliant tawny carmel color, remarkably little sediment. Nose was shy at first, then light spice and fruit. Palate began as musty and woody, then after about 1/2 hour opened up to red fruit and cinnamon. Light smoky and racy tart finish, nice and long. Quite fresh, but also clearly fully mature.
