December 12, 2022 - Dark reddish garnet in color with slight clearing at the edges. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, spices, balsamic notes, tobacco, leather, minerals, herbs a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe red fruit flavors of cherries, cranberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of balsamic. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & airing. At 25 years of age, it is approaching its peak of development although it should continue developing with a few more years additional aging.

July 16, 2022 - Quick splash decant and this was ready to go right out of the glass. Predominantly red fruit but mostly has given way to the tertiary notes at this point of stewed tomatoes, sweet prunes, red licorice, balsamic, and subtle tobacco. Soft finish, I wouldn't wait on this one anymore, time to drink up.

July 14, 2022 - This was a part of 1997 and 1999 Tuscan tasting including 3 Brunellos and 2 Super Tuscans, same producers from each year. Very enjoyable wine. Modern style, lush and rich. Dense colour but slightly faded. The nose is forward with cigar box , wild cherry and raspberry; wood and leather complexity kick in at the end. Good finish.

February 27, 2015 - Dinner at Home; 2/26/2015-2/27/2015 (Fremont, CA): Medium ruby color with age-appropriate bricking; nose has a lot of funk, very similar to previous bottles which I thought might be flawed... It's just the style and blows off after a while, underlying red fruit, some spice; palate is medium bodied, nice acidity, red fruit, clean; finish is medium length. Despite the initial funkiness, very nice. 86-88
