August 2, 2011 - Pronouced sweet fruit aromatics, some tobacco, good big cab.
July 20, 2011 - Blueberry, cassis nose. Cassis, plum with a hint of oak with along soft finish.
April 21, 2011 - At first opening, not that great. After a short while, it began to develop and continued to do so for the next two hours following decanting. Although this wine is certainly drinkable now (with decanting strongly recommended), I think it needs a few more years in the bottle. I drank this last night, and I wish I had posted the TN then, more detailed. Nevertheless, a very good bottle now, but I suspect a better one in a few years.
February 12, 2011 - Impromptu Wine + Ribeye Roast (My Basement Suite): No Formal Tasting Notes, was from a party, Approx 16 Wines, Will put notes I remembered plus reaction and WOTN etc etc
Truchard is great wine hasn't let me down yet, Im glad this was brought good stuff thumbs up
August 26, 2010 - Truchard Tasting w/Anthony Truchard (Gibby's Wine Den, Geneva, IL): A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petite Verdot.
Opaque crimson color. Aromas of milk chocolate, blackberry and cassis, with a subtle smoky/meaty quality. Flavors of currants, pomegranate and berries.
August 6, 2010 - Pop & pour at the office. Blueberry fruit with a subtle green streak, almost a minty/eucalyptus play. Definitely strikes me as a cooler climate Cabernet. Light tannins, just a touch drying on the sour cherry finish. This is good, but not really my style.
June 16, 2010 - A decent blueberry and chocolate nose that did not deliver in the mouth. Greenish tones, astringent. Not my style at all.
March 29, 2010 - Wine Wizards Warehouse Wine Tasting (WWWWT) (Wine Wizards Warehouse): Big rich nose. Solidly made, and quite enjoyable.
March 5, 2010 - Really a terrific cabernet. It smells minerally, it tastes minerally — that's what I like! The black fruit is quite suave, the cool green tones are present, and the finish is long and structured by acidity, fine tannins, and the aforementioned mineral notes. Good on ya, Truchard.
March 1, 2010 - Awesome cabernet. I have always been a fan of Truchard cabernet and seen that this had a rating over 90, so I thought I would pop it young and see if I needed to order more for the future..... sure do. This is a great cabernet that should age well over the next 10 years. Going to get another case. A great cab that won't completely break the bank.
