November 9, 2009 - Another blend of an international variety, Syrah (50-60%, depending on vintage) with the local Mandillari grape (50-40% respectively), this powerful red has a deep ruby-purple colour, exhibiting oak (vanilla), blackberries, currants, violets and some spices. Oak is dominant at this phase, but the fruit seems to have enough power to integrate it over the next couple of years. Full-bodied with polished tanins, rich fruit and moderate acidity. The finish is of medium length, which is a drawback. Nevertheless, this is a very interesting red that will improve over the mid-term after integrating the oak.
