January 5, 2023 - The nose and palate show subtle notes of violets and licorice but not much fruit. A slight touch of brick on the edges indicating the wine is at the end of it's drinking interval.

December 28, 2022 - Geweldige wijn! 1997, wat een jaar. Wijn dat ik al een tijd in mijn collectie heb maar ik ben blij dat ik het nu drink. In de neus smokey, herbs en nog gedroogd fruit maar heerlijk. In de mond perfect tannines, acidity en cherry als fruit. Maar ook mooi dat aarde, leer en hout komt er in voor. Heeft wel 1u nodig om te decanteren.

March 29, 2020 - Nose of smoke, meat, truffle, mild herbaceous, tar, asphalt, musk and so much more. Incredible color and legs. Amazing bright cherry fruit, great acidity with mature yet age worthy tannins. Balanced yet its youth at times belies its age and future greatness. Still young but in a perfect drinking window. Perfect pairing with Pasta Pomodoro, fennel sausage and calabrian meatballs.
