December 21, 2019 - Outstanding nose and palate!

May 22, 2018 - Decent nose, but palate was oxidized.

October 5, 2017 - Took about 1.5 hours to fully open up, and even then it did not quite reach the same enjoyment as last summer. Seems to be fading now. The nose was far more muted and the secondary characteristics (tobacco, cherry kirsch, vanilla oak, baking spices, etc.) seem to have receded. Still, this is smooth, balanced, and a mature joy to drink at 17 years of age. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 90.

July 11, 2016 - This guy just keeps on kicking, silky smooth and consistent across the past few years. The nose has blossomed into a rose garden - you can smell it half-way across the room - bringing red roses, cherry blossoms, potpourri, candied raspberries, sweet tobacco, and toasty oak. The palate is medium, round, juicy, and very smooth, bringing dark cherries, blackberries, chocolate cherries, wild herbs, dried leather, dried cranberries, and wet cedar wood into the refined and elegant finish. Still a good acidic core with firm tannins, this wine has at least 5-10 years of life ahead. Lovely mature right-bank Bordeaux that is best with savory food.

March 14, 2015 - Still very smooth, silky, yet funky. Drinking superb, and those tannins are still potent on the finish. Probably has more life ahead than I had thought. Went fabulous with Vermont-style maple syrup pork roast.
