August 27, 2017 - Lamy Sundays (Chicago, IL): This was one of my favourite wines of the afternoon (and I almost never drink Tuscan wines); this makes me wonder why I don't own a single bottle of Tuscan wine. The nose here is fragrant with earth and sweet plums, with precisely the same profile on the palate. It's well-delineated, concentrated, and amply complex. Granted, this does feel to me it's at a peak, but it's also something just spectacular now.

August 30, 2014 - I thought this was good but not great. All of the elements of a great wine were present, but they never came together in an integrated way: when the aroma was at its peak, the mouthfeel was slightly off, and vice versa. It did build towards cohesion throughout the night—helped no doubt by a pappardelle bolognese and a steak with mushrooms—but at the end of the evening I was left feeling like this was a little past its prime. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.

January 23, 2010 - Roses and sweet cherry, perhaps some cassis, on the nose with a bit of earthiness that had diminished on the second day very subtle leather. Mouthfeel is very silky with resolved sweet tannins. I would say this brunello is at its peak where it will remain for the next couple of years. The palate is still fruity with cherry and blackcurrant, very clean. A beautiful wine that shined on the second day by becoming more elegant. Luckily I have 2 more.

March 15, 2009 - Served with Desiree's family lasagna. Intriguing nose with smoke, leather, dried leaves and prunes. Smells older than it should for a wine this young. My 9 year old daughter took a smell and said nail polish so there is also a bit of VA going on here (a previous bottle of this was undrinkable due to oxidation/VA). The taste was excellent and paired very well with the lasagna.
