It offered dark fruits, forest berries, blackberry, plum, chocolate and earthy notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed sweet fruit, forest berries, blackberry, black currant, dark plum, chocolate and cola. The sparkling wine was very chocolate-driven and surprisingly close in its flavour profile to a non-sparkling Barossa Shiraz. A very interesting tasting experience, though red sparkling Shiraz will probably not make it to the top of the list of my all time favourite sparklers.
