Community Tasting Notes 3

September 19, 2021 - Shared a bottle over a light lunch in Florence at Enoteca Pitti Gola across from the Pitti Palace. What a treat to try a Chianti Classico Riserva in it's prime. Beautiful ruby in color with just slight bricking at the edge. This opened nicely over time in the glass. Bright red cherry and some slight earthy funk on the nose and palate. It was medium body and somewhat silky with some nice weight but no firm tannin. A very good wine in it's prime.

April 10, 2010 - I tasted it at 2010 Vinitaly, IMHO, was one the best tasting I had in the exhibition, starting from the typical colour of chianti, trasparent red, then the generous nose of leaves and earth, and finally very satisfactory on the palate where I noted good acidity a round tannins.

February 17, 2010 - Chianti Classico (29 TN inside!) (Firenze (Italy) - Stazione Lepolda): Nice, but a bit weak in body and acidity. Tannins are still harsh and no poor acidity to sustain alcohol (13,5%). From vineyards 35/40 y. old.
