June 5, 2023 - Opened alongside the '08 St Innocent Shea (both 375 ml). This pales in comparison. It's not surprising that this has lost its fruit, what is remarkable, is that the St. innocent hasn't. To be honest, I bought this because it was the least objectionable of the bunch when we visited Patricia Green. The wines compared to other Ribbon Ridges and other Willamette Pinots were lean (Burgundian euphemistically?, But that would be a slap at Burgundy .) This lacks the structure and balance I would expect from a Willamette Pinot, but, I also waited 15 years - that's on me.

Duck confit for dinner, so I figured it was time to crack this one. Had been thinking about doing that for some time.
    C: dark brownish-red
    N: a bit reticent
P: balance, smoothness, interest--it all slides by in one seamless, enticing package. Entry, mid-palate and exit are a single entity, soothing but alluring. Who could ask for anything more?

April 18, 2022 - I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this is drinking, considering some of the reviews (and a couple other recent bottles of PGC that have had relatively high levels of VA). Lightly cloudy and color that is approaching mid-brick. A bit musty on first pour, but that soon gives way to a heady mix of morello cherry and clove spice on the nose. The palate is surprisingly full and concentrated, but with plenty of acid and savory nuance to prevent this from falling into sweet warm climate pinot territory. Morello cherry and mulberry fruit, cinnamon/clove spice box, moderate sous bois, and a touch of salty clay fan out across the palate. A bit of bitterness on the finish, as others have noticed, but otherwise drinking very nicely at this stage.

March 12, 2021 - Really enjoyed where this is at. A bit green and herbaceous, showing savory earth notes. Lengthy savory finish.

September 8, 2019 - "Everyone knows German Reisling wines do not age." (Chicago, IL): From half-bottle. I typically like the Green wines, but this one unfortunately didn't work for me. It was just too backwards and tannic, showing no charm and all acid and tannic structure. Maybe it needs more time to come around?
