Community Tasting Notes 9

December 23, 2012 - Musty nose to start. Very pleasant with little tannin left. Mellow with not distinct favors. It opened up after a couple of hours.

March 15, 2011 - Decanted 1 hour. Lots of fine sediment. Bright, medium color with a clear rim. Savory low key aromas feature dried herbs, tea, and high-toned cherry fruit. Well balanced and composed with flavors that tend toward red berries, cherries and a touch of cinnamon and savory spices. There's still sweetness to the fruit and plenty of acidity that lifts the flavors without drying them. Tannins are fully resolved and the finish is pretty. Drink soon before it starts drying out.

March 28, 2010 - Great cherry, mellow tanins. Good structure, and I'm really glad I have a few left.

March 13, 2010 - Decanted 2 hours. Dark color with a clear rim. Subdued aromas of black plum with some dried herbs in the background. Flavors are elegant and balanced while not particularly complex or exciting. Gains a bit in the glass--lively black and red fruits, enough freshness remains, still a bit of grip. This is a nicely harmonious and elegant wine that is surprisingly persistent on the finish. 89 points. Drink now--2014.
