June 30, 2013 - This has developed very nicely, the rims are already a light orange, but this wine still needs air and has quite some time left. A bit heavy pinot nose with a little cooked strawberry fruit but earth and elegant wood woven in. On the palate it starts out broad and a bit alcoholic but starts to gain balance with air. Sweet red fruit, a bit mushroomy, orange cests, good acidity - became very quaffable, good length.
