May 16, 2023 - And it goes like this: an hour in decanter. First sniff, first sip... weird medicine notes! On the other hand, the wine absolutely did not look like its best days were long behind it. The wine went to the decanter again for 90 minutes and now I'm drinking a whole different beast now. It's not typical Amarone with big loads of prune and raisin. Matter of fact I didn't detect any of them. Nevertheless the wine is delicious and unique.
Smell - black cherry, mint ( I would never guess it could be in an Amarone), earth, milk chocolate, cedar, herbs.
Taste - black cherry, blackberry, chocolate, herbs ( a lot of it), vanilla.
Nice soft finish with fine tannins, acidity and cinnamon.
The longer I drink this wine the more I like it!
    🕤⏰🕐
Second day of drinking - milk texture, milk chocolate, but fruits are subdued. Softer tannins.
Yesterday the wine was much better.

April 11, 2012 - Deep purple, quite viscous
Meaty, high alcohol traits off the nose
Initial sip began thin, ended as a medium bodied, medium finish
    Stewed prunes, "cooked vegetative" hints

This bottle falls short after having had some really good comparables recently.
