November 25, 2022 - Impressive bottle of Corton in an otherwise disappointing line-up of wines.
This has aged very nicely and could have aged further; confirming both the strength of the property and the 93 vintage.
Still significant tannin structure, excellent core of olums, iron and spices. Excellent complexity and length.

February 3, 2020 - Best showing of this, still pretty structured,. Full and long, just hitting stride. B+

January 30, 2020 - At Bite of Hong Kong

Still quite structured and firm. This opens up with time with savory, ferrous, earthy, and meaty notes more than pinot fruit. There is a leafy herbal backend that I really like. Savory and a little stern, but starting to drink well, and I doubt it will fade before I do. A solid, structured more than graceful wine. But as someone said at the table, it is Corton and it is '93.

January 30, 2020 - Savory with brambly fruit. Wild and spicy and a bit of soy and brown sugar, sawdust. Savory some iron on the palate a little funky and rust on finish, finish falls off but the rest is very good. This was a step up from the 95 Ambroise Corton I brought. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17/20.

February 18, 2013 - Cellar clearance 2013 (our house): Quite a bit more impressive than my earlier bottle. A very youthful, primary bottle of Corton with very assertive dark raspberry fruit, some sappiness and a bit of pencil lead. Great acidity and plenty of body, this is certainly a masculine example of red Burgundy.
