January 25, 2020 - F.X. Pichler Riesling Unendlich full vertical (1998-2017) (Restaurant Waldhorn, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Gabriel Standard
Opened about 1h before drinking, not decanted. Perfect bottle!
Clear, deep golden color, still very young. Clean, medium+ intense and rather youthful nose. Deep, herbaceous, ripe Amalfi citrus, smoke. Great perfume!
Wow! Amazing wine! Still young. The complexity and flavors of 2015 and 2007, but with a perfectly integrated alcohol. Never hot, never broad or massive! Lots of ripe citrus, some clean botrytis. Great texture, wonderful acidity. Looong! So fresh and joyful! Wonderful experience. This bottle is certainly at its full peak, but will stay there for at least 5+ years. My WOTN! 96-97

May 19, 2015 - This is as close to being a WOW wine as you can get 94+. PnP, minerality kept increasing, a little oxidized, but a fantastic wine. LOOOOOONG. MINERAL. This is a Grand Cru wine no doubt about it.

April 10, 2010 - Blind California Cult Cabernet Tasting (Mill Creek, WA): My notes say that the label showed well over 15% alchohol. The wine sure doesn’t show it on the nose or the palate. Very nice citrus nose that also shows some botrytis and spice. The palate didn’t have nearly the amount of honeyed sweetness that I expected because of the nose, but there were nice lemon/lime flavors. Probably because I usually drink Rieslings like this on the younger side. Long finish – unending may be a stretch, but it’s still long... Not as distinctive as I had expected, but still very nice.

December 28, 2007 - Christianne's Dinner (San Francisco): Excellent. Rich in sweet fruit, but searingly (in a good way) dry. Loads slate and not as much "botrytis fat" as I seemed to remember in the past. This has tons of upside.

April 6, 2007 - Stunningly good wine. Ultra pure Riesling flavors with a really natural feel. Really big and flashy, but never overdone and with great definition and backbone. Better than I had hoped. Textured and ripe like it may have some botrytis; either way, just delicious.

February 8, 2007 - This is Pichlers top bottling. 1998 was the first vintage for this wine. It is a selection of the best of his Riesling grapes from the Loibner Berg vineyard. Translated, "unendlich" means never ending and is a reference to the finish of this wine.

September 5, 2004 - Lots of tropical fruits, pineapples, cream and peaches. Good underlying acidity. Really opened up with air. Rich yet racy.
