  April 2, 2008 - For the first half hour, this was stellar - a wonderful esterized somewhat meaty nose, cranberries, and great earthy acidity. At first blush seemed pretty firm and not inclined to come apart. With air it evolved and softened significantly, perhaps more than I would have liked. Licorice emerged, dough scents, Christmas spice, etc. Even now, three hours after opening, it has a nice firm acidity and was great with pork loin, potatoes, and spinach.

  March 4, 2005 - A robust wine with clean if a little reserved nose, on the lighter side of medium bodied and colored but a full mouth of red fruit with adequate if not long finish. A perfect match for the bistek and pico in a homemade corn tortilla. This wine fills a void between young tannic burgundy and young forward Rhones in quality but you wont find either this good for the price- $9.
