March 6, 2011 - Really enjoyed this. It carries its 14.4% abv without strain as it maintains a lithe profile. It really comes alive after about an hour. (Several hours later it may fade a bit.) I'm not a Pinot connoisseur, but I've had enough average ones to recognize something finer. This displays pure Pinot fruit and an acid level that pairs it well with food (we had pork tenderloin, but it could work with fattier fare) but not so much acid that it distracts from its pleasure drinking on its own. The story here is light on its feet, but with a solid core of fruit and an evolving nose that sometimes delivered exotic spices. Wish I had more.
