November 14, 2021 - Second Sunday Group: 1990 Burgundies (Neil's): Standard bottle, AP 25765113180, courtesy of our host's cold cellar. Much lighter in color than the d'Yquem served alongside, one might guess only 15 years old based solely on appearance if tasting blind. Aromas of diesel and ripe peach, sweet apple and mineral. There's a richness on the palate balanced by the acidity- this is still quite "fresh" and lovely. Peach and more diesel on the palate, with a lengthy finish. More than a few of us preferred this to the Sauternes. 93+ pts. (NG)

May 29, 2016 - A birth-year wine. Popped and poured; the cork was wet but came out in one piece. This is the color of golden apple juice. On the nose, it seems a bit oxidized, but I do get honeycomb, stewed pears, burnt wax, and some orange zest. In the mouth, this is still reasonably fresh, with the sugar fully absorbed, and some tangy acid. The wine is oddly heady, although no alcohol is perceived. Overall, I don't know enough to say whether this is representative of an Auslese of this age, a somewhat off bottle, or what. It is interesting and an experience to taste, but I'm withholding a formal score.

February 2, 2008 - Dinner at home with Steve & Barb. AP #31-80. Wet cork but didn't seem to affect the wine. Very light and delicate for a Prum. Dominated by the green apple side of Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Nice sweetness that cut through the spiciness of the plank grilled shrimp with ease. Virtually no petrol, just a bit of minerality showing. A very elegant and very good bottle. 50+12+12+8+8= 90.

February 10, 2006 - AP #31-80. Dinner at Duck & Dumpling. Medium gold in color, this wine was very tropical with the initial scent dominated by pineapple and other exotic fruits. As it settled in, some of the classic green apple showed up as well as a medium level of petrol. Then came good strong acidity on the medium bodied palate and a nice ( but larger than expected ) dose of sweetness on the medium to long finish. Amazingly, well maybe not for a Prum, this still seems to be on the upswing. At least 10 more years of enjoyable drinking ahead for this beauty. 50+12.5+12+8.5+8 = 91

July 25, 2005 - AP#31-80. Some lemon and petrol but also a strong metallic note. Clearly an off bottle. Not rated.
